floor plans

The house consists of three parts.
The first floor offers an exhibition area, where Patricia can welcome her co-workers and discuss her work with them. On the other hand, they can also show her their work in the digital presentation room.
The heart of the building is the workplace elevator, a platform on which Patricia can enter her tower to explore her library, or observe the surrounding nature from the observation deck. This elevator passes all levels of the building, but the access is from the exhibition area only.

From the first floor of the building, there is also a separated entrance to the living box.
The box is built with wood, beacause of its warm colour and its connection to the nature. The living box offers an enclosed area to fulfill the client‘s needs of privacy and security. It also has a close relationship to light. The inside courtyard opens to east, so that the client can feel the morning light in the bedroom and in the bathroom. As the temperature in Queensland is mild throughout the whole year, the client can also open the sliding glass doors if she wants to be closer to the outside.
The balcony opens to west, to invite the warm light of sunsets into the living spaces.

The third part of the building is the tower and its studio. The tower faces another direction than the living box does, the purpose of that is to create different spaces for the client to live or to work in.
The access to the top deck is only through the workplace elevator, its purpose is to prepare the client with the most comfort in here process of work. At any time she can take the elevator up and down, the observation deck surrounds the studio and offers her spectacular views over the landscape. The inner part of the tower prepares all the necessary access to information like books or digital resources, and the ground floor is the connection to the co-workers or an opportunity to exhibit work to have a second look at it or show it to others.
